Question Celica GTS Tensioner Replacement

Hello Members, this is my first post to a forum. I've run into a squacking drive belt tensioner that has given me some really flaky symptoms. The intermittant metal grind is particularly upsetting, especially after already replacing a perfectly good water pump before a read the Edmund's 2000-2002 test results. I have less than 1/2" between bolt head and frame. Is this enough room to remove the bolt replace the tensioner?

Default Re: Celica GTS Tensioner Replacement

No there is not enough room, to remove the bolt on a GTS(2ZZ). If it were a corolla (1ZZ) you'd have it alot easier.
You have to remove the front engine mount(passenger fender) and lift the engine with a floor jack under the oil pan (CAREFULLY, use a piece of wood between the jack and pan).
It is a pain in the drain.
