1993 toy P/U terrible gas mileage

My Toyota P/U 22 re gets only half the gas mileage on the interstate as it gets around town. Where do I start looking for the problem? Thanks Jumm

What RPM are you turning at interstate speeds?

You would probably know if it were turning up really fast on the interstate. Hard to say what it is. How fast were you going? Gas mileage sinks the faster you go.
