changing headlight, truck

I need to change a headlight on my 1994 truck. When I went to change it, I noticed it wasn't as simple as I had hoped for. It looks like the grill must first be removed to get at the light.
The clips that hold in the grill are in very tight spots. Is there a special tool or trick for removing these?
