Bummer....
My old 92 4Runner blows smoke and runs on 5 cylinders when it first starts up....Then it's Ok. I know over the years I pinged the little 3.0 to death...so now it's a oil burner, my fault (that's why I bought the Tundra 3 years ago ).
Here's my dilema. It is due for a new registration and here in CA that means it has to pass SMOG......which I don't think it will.
What to do?
1. Reg it as "NON-OP" and only us it off road up here in the mountians like I've been doing for the past couple of years and someday repair the sick engine.
2. Sell it......which means I'll get next to nothing for it...and in CA to legally sell a vehicle it has to pass SMOG....or
3. The crummy state will give me all of 1000 bucks to "retire" it....another lousy choice.....
It still looks good, has great rubber and wheels on it....and a lot of other extras.....I kinda hate the thought of just crushing it for a grand.
Any suggestions?
