Convert a 1993 into an extra cab
I wonder if this could be done? I guess you could get a cab and bed off a later model extra cab and bolt it on. I wonder if anyone makes a kit you could just bolt into the bed and attach to the cab. You could take out the rear window...

Re: Convert a 1993 into an extra cab
I've seen a T100 fer sale on CL or
ebay that someone made a custom sleeper fer the long bed that attached on the back of the window. It didn't look all that great...
It looked kinda like a bad tool box hybrid...
I guess you could cut a camper top so it's short and modify that so it would do the same thing...probably cheaper, too!
I guess if yer gonna go through the deal of pulling the entire cab and bed off the truck (including wiring and such)...you might as well buy an extended cab.
I believe the fuel tank got switched over from the passenger side to the driver side in 1995...so that's something you would have to contend with as well.

Re: Convert a 1993 into an extra cab
That looks pretty crappy. I will probably just sell my truck and get another one that has a factory back seat.

Whatcha looking to spend? There's been a few manuals that look pretty good. I guess yer looking fer the power package and cruise, too? Any particular color? With or without a camper top? Bench or buckets?

Re: Convert a 1993 into an extra cab
It would depend on how much I can get for my regular cab. I have it in the local sales paper and I have had a few calls but no firm offers yet.

Try listing it on craigslist.org because it's free and you can attach piccies!
You can also list yer truck fer sale in the fer sale section here as well as the other forums. What kinda specs fer yer current truck? It would be kinda helpful to know to help you sell it...

Re: Convert a 1993 into an extra cab
It is a 93 T100 regular cab long bed with the V6 and automatic. It is 4wd and has the SR5 package with PW, PDL, Cruise etc. The AC does not work.
I may just trade my Explorer in on a new truck and throw this one in on the trade.

Re: Convert a 1993 into an extra cab
I have it in the local sales paper for $3500. It needs a power steering pump, the one on it is going out. I will take $3000 for it as it sits.
