Default 22R engine

Hey Guy's I have a 1981 Toyota 4x4, with a blown motor and am able to pick up a 1984 22R Engine. Will this bolt up straight away or am I looking at a lot of work to convert. Should I be taking the transmission as well??? Any help will be appreciated.

Default Re: 22R engine

Should bolt up. 81 through 84 22r's were the tall block versions and should be the same. Starting in 85 the 22r had a shorter deck height on the block and a shorter head as well.
