Smile Just Picked Up 1993 T100 and Want Some Suggestions...

This is my second T100 and I really like this truck like I remembered.

The only real "problem" is going from the wonderful 4.7 liter V8 to the 3.0 liter V6. Man what a difference. Too bad Toyota hadn't brought the V8 out back then.

Oh well.

This is going to be a sort of project truck.

I've already added a 2.50 inch Magnaflow exhaust, some Bosch +4 Platinum plugs, new shocks, refinished original style aluminum rims with new Toyo 31" tires, CD player, new plug wires, a "Red Line" chip, some new floor mats and some new mud flaps.

I might go for some Downey headers if I don't swap the motor for a 3.4.
The 3.0 liter is very limited as to the power that can be mustered out of it.

I've read a great deal of info about small pickups and 4 runners installing the 3.4, but It has to be easier in the T100 since the truck is essentially the same between 93 and 95 when the switch between the 3.0 and 3.4 came.

Anybody have any input or advice?

Not one available for the old 3.0 liter or I would have it in an instant...

Default Brackets made

I forgot the name but I know there is a company tha makes everything to put a 3.4 in where a 3.0 goes. Brackets, wiring everything. The kit is like 1500 bucks though. I will try to find the name.

Default 93 t-100

[QUOTE=Ric17]This is my second T100 and I really like this truck like I remembered.

I bought a 1993 T-100 new and I still drive it. The only problem is that it keeps running like a top and I can't justify getting a new Tundra. It was made in Japan and i think that make it better made than the USA built Tundra..just my opinion. My T-100 has always been a back up vehicle until recently. I got 80,000 miles out of my first set of Bridgestone tires!

I also still drive the 93 t-100 1ton 3.0l I purchased new.
180,000 miles and still strong.
I did just replace the head gaskets for the second time.
1st time at 60,000 and last at 175,000
After going for a long hunting trip in my inlaws 2000
Tundra and getting back in mine, there is no comparison.
Although I still love my t-100,I can't wait to change into my new Tundra.
I just hope I can find a good home for her!

I'm sorry I got started typing and forgot the question.

It seems I read a post earlier about the 3.4 having to be installed with the matching transmission as well as ecu.

It can be done and there is a website that has a decent
writeup on all of the ins and outs.(cant find as of yet)

This is something I considered, but came to the conclusion
that my time and money would be better spent working toward a new tundra at $20,000+

Unless of course you can find a good donor vehicle cheap.

Good Luck!

Oops! I did buy an o5 Tundra AC. What a great truck. The Tundra kicked my 1993 t-100 out of my garage. I hope the Tundra is as reliable as my t-100. We'll see.
