Default Hilux

Is there anyway to get a Toyota Hilux here in the states? Really cool truck, with a mini-diesel engine!

I was wondering that for the older ones like this http://www.brian894x4.com/images/ReneChapmanHilux.jpg
and I came up with this. Go way South and drive one home. Other then that you would have to have one shipped in from another country. Then probably have to mess with the DMV.

Why doesn't Toyota slam their diesel in the Tacoma? Or better yet just bring some Hiluxs over here. Do they think it would be a poor seller? We've been clamoring for a light diesel pickup for years now, what is the hang up Toyota!

No demand.

The variations are already here.

Yes.

Low sales. Just like in the 80's.

That would be nice to have a diesel, but right now Diesel is higher than gas so its not worth it.
