Question '97 T-100 exhaust?

Hey everyone, my dad has a '97 t-100 that has 200,000+ miles on it and is thinking of changing a few components on the exhaust system.

He was thinking of changing out the cat and adding a new muffler(possibly a spintech...my suggestion).

I was wondering do you think the pipping would still be good if he just had the cat and the muffler welded on? There is no signs of rusting on the pipping. Is there anyway that miles of useage could cause build up in side of the exhaust pipe?

Or would it more bennifical to just have a custom 2 1/4" pipping installed. He just wants to get a little better flow from his system. And I don't think he wants to spend a lot of money on headers.

If the cat is good don't mess with it.

If you will never install headers I suggest a 2.5" cat-back with a quality muffler - I had DYNOMAX.
This will give you the sound you want plus a little additional HP/TQ.
I don't know anything about Spintech.

When my oem exhaust rusted out (~130k miles), I installed a Borla catback. Its all stainless steel with lifetime replacement and uses the same hangers as the oem exhaust so was a snap to install. Nice sound and definitely feel more low end torque...

I can't speek much towards what you should choose but if your dad is willing to do the work with you what is the harm.

I myself have a 1998 T-100 and am trying to change out the rotor and cv joint boots.

I am working on replacing my brake rotor on a 1998 T-100 (4x4). I have removed the tire, caliper, and center steel cap covering the Bearing strut. Now I have tried to insert two bolts into the threaded holes provided and evenly back off the rotor and nothing is happening. Oh...yauh, I also removed the steel bolt under the bearing cap.

What else do I need to do to get this rotor off? And after that I am replacing the CV joint boots so if there is any hits about that send them my way.

I would appreciate any help,

Dave

Last month I replaced my muffler and tailpipe on my '97 (171K miles) and the shop welded the miffler to the original pipe since it looked to be in good shape. Had a Magnaflow stainless steel muffler (Ithink about 18 inch length) with stock dimensions for the inlet and outlet since I did not want to loose what little torque the v6 has at the bottom end.
It is more throaty, but not really offensive. Sound prefernce is an individual thing, I would have likes something just a tad quieter, but thats just my individual preference. (My wife likes the sound though)
Havent checked mileage, but it doesn't appear to have hurt anything.
Oh yeah. Mid range to top end, the motor pulls very strong now. Used to be entering a freeway, winding the motor to 4500 rpm the power seemd flat (or fell off), now it pulls through each gear with noticeable difference!
