Was wondering if anyone has looked into installing a Tuntra V8 into a T100? What did you find? Mine currently has a 3.4l V6 + auto. Thanks.
I think anything is possible, given enough time, energy, and money. But consider the fact that by dropping in a non-original spec engine may cause big legality problems when it comes to state inspections and emissions testing. If that applies.
Also, considering the custom fabrication of mounts, exhaust, wiring, driveshafts, etc, it may be just be cheaper to sell and buy an early Tundra V8.

Mine's a '95, and won't take the super - not that I wouldn't mind, but the $ would be better spent in extending it's usefulness than (way fun!) playfulness, that way I can save for a later-model replacement.
V8 power wasn't my original goal; rather a low-mileage engine/trans. There's one on ebay for $1800 - not bad I might add.
Mine's in the shop now for a blown head gasket. Since it has 274k, I was thinking why not just do the swap instead. My mechanic went to the Toy school in Ventura, CA, and has 5+ dealer years; is now on his own. Seems like an honest guy. He said it's a headach as in Cali they require *all* the engine emission equipment to go with transplants, so this deal is dead.
You may need to search around, but I think you can only put the TRD SC in '97 and newer 3.4's. Not sure why.
You cant because the ECU's wont accept it on pre 97's.
I have seen many people drop in a small block 350 into the T100. I would go that route as i think it would be cheaper. No matter what you are going to need a new tranny and ecu to make this thing work either route you decide to take. You could however get a newer ECU and then run the supercharger.

Anybody know what else would have to be done to make a pre-1997 3.4 viable for a supercharger besides a computer????
I have read opinions that a few late production '96 3.4L T100's will accept the S/C.
There are some that will tell you the S/C can work on a pre-'97 if you do thi$ and that, and then try thi$ and that.
Thi$ and that add$ up to a bunch of wa$ted ca$h.
My '96 did not qualify for the S/C so I installed TRD headers and racked up the miles
So I appear to be screwed. Here I was, all ready to plunk down cash and pick up my supercharger. Then I come to find, my stupid 95 can't have one? Anyone have a link to doing the ecu swap, or what it would take? I can't seem to find it. I found a new in the box s/c for 1700.00, and was all ready to buy it.
I have a 96 T100 and went through some S/C research. From my understanding, the issue with the pre-97 models is that the ECU won't be able to increase the fuel delivery enough given the increase in air flow. There are solutions to this, but as others have said, it will cost you (like a grand for parts, on top of the S/C). See this link. One thing to consider with the S/C addition is that you'll a) need to run higher octane gas and b) your mpg will likely decrease.
Were the TRD headers worth the money? Seems like TRD is the only avenue for headers on 4wd T100s...
There's a T-100 down here that I have seen at the track a few times running a 351 windsor stroked to 408ci and running a massive blower. It looks stock other than the huge chrome thing sticking out of the hood. And the tires that seem like they almost want to touch in the middle.

I wonder if you could just drop in a small block 350 and a chevy transmission from an older model that has no electronics? You would not even need and ecu then would you? I wonder if anyone makes an adapter kit to allow you to hook up the transfer case to the chevy tranny?

THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT (see my gallery video)
