starting problems 89 toyota truck

I have a 89 toyota truck
, 2 wheel drive--manual transmission, 22r motor.
When I turn the key to start-it just has a clunk or nothing at all. I have changed the starter, ingition switch, and have had the battery checked, but still have the same probem-sometinmes it will start, but sometimes not.

i know its a old thread but here it goes... check the neutral safety switch. because if thats faulty the truck may not start at all. im unsure if you can bypass it for now for testing. but definatly check into it.

you can ad a relay to send 12 volts stright from battery you use the org starter wire to trig the relay i have it on my 1990 truck works great
