Default newbie needs info

Well i am new to anything toyota so here goes my questions....
I own a 1990 toyota Pickup with the 22r engine and 4 speed manual trans. i ask this what is the towing weight for this truck and set up? i need it to haul a 84 cougar 650 miles and the car won't have a engine or trans and will most likely be stripped out so its gonna weigh no more than 2000 lbs and just gonna be a rolling chassie. so is it possible to haul it?

Yes, it will haul it. I belive tow rating is 3500lbs on the 4cylinder. That long of a distance it will not be a fun trip though. I pulled about 3500 with a 2.7L tacoma from D.C. to central OH and it wasn't much fun. I also have pulled a smaller car on a dolly with an 84 toyota 22r about 40 miles, it didn't do great, but if you take your time and be careful it should work. I will also add that a manual tranny will be a big help for this instance.

cool thanx now i ask this... how easy would it be to put a turbo on the 22r engine? and what would i have to modify? i know a bigger carb possibly a higher flow fuel pump and someway to make a cold air intake since it does use the warm air from under the hood. im looking for more power and the seat of your pants feel to it. now its like driving a flinstone truck lol. but any insite on this would be awsome. thanx!

Towing the car it shouldn't be a problem.

Check out LCEngineering for a 22R turbo kit.
