91 P/U:Won't start, no spark.
Hey to all electro heads..
I was in a parking lot and started my truck to leave, it started and then after 30 sec, it died.
When it died, I thought oh oh, this is not good, it never has done this. I could crank the engine over no problem, but no start.
I figured fuel or fire, so I checked the coil wire to the cap and no spark. I put an ohm meter on the coil and it seemed to pass the primary .3-.5 test but I was getting .5-.9, I have a very sensitive meter and was thinking that I might not be getting good solid contact. The secondary was getting 230 ohm or so which is in spec.
I then figured it was the ingniter, which I can not find a way to test, so I spent $200 on one, still no go???
I checked the fuses all ok..... I am on my way to a wrecking yard to get a coil and see, but I have a feeling that my luck is not sooo good.
Boy I miss my old Chevy, to solve this problem was so easy, This friggen electronic computer stranding tech is frustrating!!!
