T-100: Cracked valve cover
Noticed that I had a small amount of oil seepage towards the front bottom side of the driver's side valve cover near the dipstick on my '95 T-100 (3.4L). With nearly 160K miles on the truck I figured it was just the gasket getting brittle and starting to leak a little. But upon closer inspection, I now notice that the valve cover itself is cracked (assume when they did the head gasket replacement as part of the recall about 100K miles ago they might have miss-torqued the bolts on the valve cover??). In any case, I would like to get this fixed. Anyone know how difficult a job this might be? Is it something a "shade-tree" mechanic can tackle on a Sat afternoon.. of better left to the guys at the local stealership. Does the entire intake plenum have to be removed??
Thxs in advance.
