Default T100 ignition wires

My T100 with about 79000 miles is getting a little harder to start. Not bad, but it turns probably 5 or 6 revolutions before it starts. I does idle a little rough.
It had a major service at 60,000 which included injection service.

Looking at the ignition set up, I occurs to me that those plug wires would wear out twice as fast on this engine as those on a V6 with six plug wires. On this one it look like the plugs must fire twice each revolution. That would be the equivalent of about 160,000 miles on the wires.

Any other ideas?

Assuming that you are still running the oem spark plugs, it may be time for them to be re-gapped or a complete new set. This is based on my experience that the oem plugs tended to wear out extremely quickly until I upgraded to double platinum plugs. As the gap widens, the truck definitely gets harder to start.. but once started it usually ran ok until the plugs got really bad.

I have 92K miles on my V-6 T100 4X4. I switched to Iridium NGK's. Idles sweet and picked up 1 MPG. If you use them, use anti-seize compound as they will be in for 100K miles. Don't forget the silicone on the spark plug boots. Got mine for $6 on E-bay. Hope this helps.

Hello, Are you saying that the NGK Irdium plugs that are single ground work well in your T100 v6? Are they still in there? I bought some Denso Iridium single ground plugs because sparkplugs.com said they work as did many threads on here, but the explanation about the DIS ignition makes me thing I need to get some dual ground plugs instead.

Okay you've mentioned plugs and wires so look at your rotor button, your distributor cap, make sure the engine is grounded well and cables are not corroded. Extreme hot weather is hard on batteries, too. These things don't fix themselves. I would suggest that you stay stock with all components.
