Default T100 noise reduction

I just bought an 06 tundra after driving my T100 for 13 years. I drove my Tundra for a week while the head gasket (and other stuff) was being replaced, and after driving the T100 when I got it back, it seemed to let the sounds of road noise really roar at me. I was amazed to think that I could have been deaf to this for years. So friends; have you taken any successful after market measures to remedy noise issues with the T100 models?

I was a year ahead of you. I sold my 1993 T-100 in 2005 and bought a 2005 Tundra. I'm not sure what road noise you are talking about. My T-100 was quiet enough. I hope my tundra lasts 12 years and is as trouble free as my T-100.

While doing some sping cleaning, I found that my "exelent" mechanic left a piece of insulation unclipped to the erea arround to column that was driving me up a wall: I put it back like it was and things greatly improved noisewise. I wonder if more insulation could make an even more quiet ride.

It sounds like the steering shaft gasket is torn. It's about $15 or so from the dealership. Easy to install.

Just checked out my gasket and it was completely rotted away. I had some leftover soft foam pipe insulation so I used about 2" of that. Since it's already split in half and has the self stick adhesive, I just wrapped it around the steering shaft and stuck it together. Fits perfectly and no noise! Not bad fer less than $5 solution. I only unbolted the old gasket to completely clean up the gasket so it would be smooth and no extra rotted pieces to deal with. Other than that, I only used some scissors to cut the pipe foam with to do this!
