My dashboard lights have started coming on everytime I hit the brake pedal (brake lights come on = dashboard lights come on). When I release the pedal the lights go back off. The headlights and tail-lights stay off... only the dashboard lights, radio, etc.
Anyone seen anything like this before? Any ideas where I should start looking for the short between the 2 circuits? Thxs.

While it could be short between circuits it's been my experience that it's a bad or shorted ground connection somewhere in the lighting circuits. Worse part is it can be anywhere in the lighting circuits and not directly related to either the brake light or dash lighting circuits. If you have a trailer lighting plug that'd be the first place I'd go to check connections then the taillight housings for bulb and wiring connections hot wires and especially ground connections. Good Luck.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???
Some people should not be allowed access to tools without books!!!
It is probably the trailer wire converter, they are known for this problem.
Stepping on the brake usually causes the turn signal (either side) to indicate, and/or the dash lights to illuminate.
It also could be a shorted brake bulb.
