The 3.4 made its debut back in 95/95.5 - Toyota was likely conservative in their 60K recommendation since it was a new engine. After 97- they changed the timing belt change recommendation to 90K.
Regardless of mileage- timing belt age should also be a factor-
Your truck is over 11 years old- I'd change it
On my 99 Tacoma- I had a belt slip due to a water pump leak @ about 70K miles. My truck was about 6 years old at the time. I had all parts in hand since I was planning to change everything "next month".
$350-400 should cover the timing belt- they should absorb the labor on the water pump if you buy the part at the same time.
