I just bought a 87 4Runner. I'm going to be building it as a future trail rig. My Tundra needs a break.

Congrats on the purchase. I just bought an 87, 4x4, 22re, 5spd myself. Got 230K on her, but in otherwise awesome conditon. Can't wait to hit the trails.

Considering one myself as a play rig... an 89 4x4 for $2-3k seems reasonable enough... ya think?

Think I can remove the top and haul a dirtbike or ATV?

We'll see what happens... still undecided.
