Battery discharge light on....

I just got a 93 SR5. She runs great but I've been chasing a small (seems to me) problem. The battery light and the brake light turn on when there is high juice situations i.e. turn signals, heater, lights, and brakes. I've checked the battery volts and its putting out 12.65 and with the truck on the alternator is putting out 13.4 volts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the brushes on yer alternator might be going bad...
That or you have a bad ground. How good are yer battery terminals?

You should be able to pull the brushes and take a peek...
...or you could take the alternator to AutoZone and have them test it fer you fer free...

It's a defient sign of an alternator problem. Charging system needs to be checked out. Should be putting out close to 14.5 volts.

Yeah, Bam was right. The alternator was failing. I did try everything under the sun to keep from spending the cash though.
