Saw your earlier post about the noise; double check to determine if the noise/vibration is a drone/resonance, or just maybe heat shields (either floor pan or exhaust pipe/muffler mounted). Some heat shields will change tones as the change temp; you did say in the other post it was a cold start problem. If it is a drone, sometimes with the louder exhaust systems, it is easier to hear the difference in idle and low speed sounds due to the timing and air/fuel ratios being different during warm up. My 07 2.7 has a different idle sound when idling cold than it does when up to temp/closed loop. If it is a drone, there is not much the dealer can do since the louder non factory exhaust was chosen as an option. Sometimes just loosening ans "tweaking" the pipes position can help.

My problem with the droan/howl. You know the sound you make when blowing across the top of a pop bottle is more pronounced with a cold start. This noise does not show up when in neutral and rpm app. 1600-2000. But in any gear at between 50kmph and 70 kmph (which is city speed)it's there and as I said in a previous post the vibration can be felt thru the passenger floorboard. I have it booked with the dealer to look at it again Nov 12. Again this problem only recently appeared I bought the Truck New and now have 16k with extended warranty. I truly hope my dealer will stand behind this and take what ever steps required to fix.

I have had the TRD now for 8000 miles. Love it. Great low rpm growl like mentioned above. Partnered with CAI from TRD it sounds awesome!
Easy *** install. Toughest part was pulling the hangers apart.
I live in the desert. No snow, no salt, no corrosion, no corrosion bitches.
good luck! go TRD!
Never saw that config before for our Tacoma's....single exhaust w/ Dual Tailpipes....I'd would want to see that mounted on another truck before I bought it... IMHO!!

Re: Borla Exhaust vs. TRD exhaust, opinions needed!
I just put the Borla kit on my 05 v6. It is actually louder than I wanted. I had a Borla on my older 4Runner and it was not so loud. Maybe because this V6 is bigger. Not bad on the Highway, and shifting with cruise control on seems less, but pretty loud around town.
Re: Borla Exhaust vs. TRD exhaust, opinions needed!
Dealer replaced my exhaust yesterday and problem fixed. They even went as far as to say if it returns they will replace with stock exhaust and credit me for the optional Borlan. That's what I would have expected from my dealer and they delivered in spades.
