I also work as a mechanic.
I also use my truck in competion. truck pulls
I need to gain power from 4000 rpms up.

Id say send me the headers. Ill put them on and take it to the dyno shop there out in santee and independent. Id obviously do the jba headers runs first as there already on the truck then the throleys. 3 pulls for each? I have no affiliation with jba other then they used my truck to make the headers and cat back.

easy I took the pic with my cell to show my friends the numbers!

Now that we are back from vacation we can go ahead and begin with some local volunteers that would like to do some testing with JBA's headers and ours.

We would be more than interested in doing a head-to-head comparison. Third party dyno or ours, heck we can even go over to JBAs dyno if they wish. The whole point is, to prove to the customer that our gains are what we say they are. We will be watching this thread to see who like help us out and in the mean time wait for JBA to chime in.

Ill give credit to Thorley here as its due for actually saying theyll be interested in it. I still disagree w/ having someone "local" do the testing, and I personally wont believe any test results unless its confirmed by the independent tester that there were no JBA or Thorley representatives present.

I wish I was local. Instead of putting these to the test on the dyno I would do a real life comparison. Hook up my 24' enclosed car hauler that is full of my construction tools and see how it pulls. Horsepower looks great on paper but I need something that produces when it counts.

We will be starting a Group Buy here on Tundra Solutions for $660 ceramic and URD is selling chrome right now for $619

Here is the link. We make more power and are less expensive than JBA. The power that we made was JUST the headers. JBA made 20/21tq, ours was 29hp/46tq.

Underdog Racing Development

Here is also the dyno chart for ours.

I live very close to a dyno shop in Santee CA who is very very reputable. I am a couple miles away from JBA and mabye 100 miles away from DT. I have never used either one of their products so I have no loyalty either way. I would be 100% open to driving to both shops and having them installed then paying to have a 3rd party company do the dyno.

Independent dyno? Still nothing...I guess I should stop whining, right DT.

Well.... give DT a couple weeks before you start barking up their tree about this issue. They are here working on it. I have faith that they will get the independent dyno run done.

We have an idea that is brewing up right now. Stay tuned for details.

But since JBA is not willing to communicate whether or not they will do the test, a member of TS here will buy JBA set and another member buy a Thorley set then they will both go to the same dyno without our involvement.

How does that sound?

I still haven't seen any decent dyno info on the 05-06 4.7L with VVT-i. Anyone have any graphs of what exhaust does for these?

Since JBA's reps were told to keep their mouth shut on this subject. Doing 2 dynos on the 2 test trucks before and after seems like the next best thing. What does everyone else think?
