JBA headers vs. Doug Thorley Headers. Which is Better?
I haven't seen a post yet comparing these two, so if I missed a thread like this I appoligize. Anways, want to get your thoughts on which head you think is better and why.

We still used the Tri-Y configuration that is a better variation of the stock. JBA uses a 4 in 1. The stock is a mild Tri-Y. The Y is what gives you the bigger torque and better midrange power. Our torque is nearly double.

Top notch huh Thorleys are mild steel the jbas are full stainless. Also whats up with the dyno from Thorlerys thats not a nice smooth power and torque band. In fact they LOSE torque after 3500 RPM over stock! You get a span of what 1500 rpm with improved Torque? Sign me up for that NOT.
Look at the JBAs smooth gains through out the whole power band
heres my dyno with jba cat back. Then the headers and cat back. Stock the truck around was 311 to the wheels.

As I stated in a previous post, Yes we did lose power for approx 300 RPM. Not enough to even notice becaust of how fast these Tundra's blow through the "R"'s. We do use mild steel because the huge price difference to go to "barely stainless" 409 which does not add durability or power is not worth it. Why pay more for no reason. Our product does two things, make power reliably and do it truthfully!

We did not use a catback on our test truck .This way it is a clean comparison. We have no need to bolster our results with a catback. The Tri-Y configuration gives power and torque from idle all the way up the curve. The variation you see for 300 rpm could be the VVT-i changing the cam timing.
We gained 28hp and 46lb ft. of torque. With everything else being stock. All the power being where you need it. Not peak numbers. Who drives around their small block V8 at 5,000 RPM? Or towing at 5,000 RPM.
Re: JBA headers vs. Doug Thorley Headers. Which is Better?
Hey LSKustumz or Doug Thorley Headers, why not put up a set of Thorley headers to a third party source to get independent dyno results against the JBAs. If youre confident in your product and think JBA is making false claims, thatd be a great way to put it to rest and bolster your standing here.
Re: JBA headers vs. Doug Thorley Headers. Which is Better?
We are definately interested in something like that if you have any suggestions. We are not here to bash anyone as JBA does make a nice product also. We are just proud of our designs and power gains. Competition is what leads manufacturers to create bigger and better things. Now we just need some competition to push us even further.
Re: JBA headers vs. Doug Thorley Headers. Which is Better?
Doesnt seem that complicated to me. Find an owner on here who lives close to a dyno, who has no affiliations to either company. JBA and Thorley each provide a set of their headers at no cost to the member, for testing purposes that will be returned once testing is finished. JBA and Thorley split the installation/dyno costs, and the third party member reports the results here.
