Default trd exhaust recall bait and switch

I had a recall for the trd exhaust on my 04 tundra, The dealer installed the
replacement exhaust and it all looked great. I ran it about 100 miles and
pulled my camper camping. When I returned home I cleaned my truck.
When I got to my exhaust tips and started to polish them the TRD logo
started to rub off. So my problem is that I payed for engraved TRD exhaust
TIPS and when they switched the system I got a lesser product.
Has any one else had a problem.

PS I would not have taken my truck near them If I had known. I want the tips I payed for.........................
COMMENTS PLEASE

Yes, looks like the TRD is engraved onto the tip. I remember mine having hard water spots on them. After I took the truck in to have professionally detail, it looked like the day I have purchased her...spotless.

My point the trd that my dealer replaced my system with are not engraved
they are some kind of stickers. That rub off I had cleaned my other ones
many times. I am fit to be tied. Anyone like to buy a dc tundra 2004 with
16,000 miles. Hate to say it for the first time in 20 years I may be a ford owner. want a deisel anyway.

Are you serious? getting rid of your truck because of the exhast tip, please it is not that big of a deal. Go back to your dealership and see if they will make it right. If they don't buy another one, not that big a deal.

I have still been trying to get this issue resolved but no luck so far. I ask them to give me my old exhaust back and they could have the junk they replaced them with back.
they have refused that solution also.

Default TRD exhaust Cheap Clone Beware

I had a recall for the trd exhaust on my 04 tundra, The dealer installed the
replacement exhaust and it all looked great. I ran it about 100 miles and
pulled my camper camping. When I returned home I cleaned my truck.
When I got to my exhaust tips and started to polish them the TRD logo
started to rub off. So my problem is that I payed for engraved TRD exhaust
TIPS and when they switched the system I got a lesser product.
Has any one else had a problem.

PS I would not have taken my truck near them If I had known. I want the tips I payed for.........................

So If You buy a set of TRD exhaust for your tundra make sure they dont have the fake Trd tips that the logo will rub off.
Figure I can tell at least 20 people

So the TRD on your tip is not engraved? Did the dealership swap out the tip too or something?

If they did shaft you on that, I would call BS on it and have them replace it.

Whats the skinny on the 04 Tundra exhaust recall? I just bought my 04, called customer service for recall history and they told me it had all been done but only mentioned front-end stuff.
Thanks
Dave

probably just a recall on the TRD exhaust alone. Not the truck I imagine

mine also aren't engraved....for some reason I think TRD was cutting cost on them and not engraving the tips. Its still made by TRD and not a aftermarket replica, take a look at this link, those aren't engraved tips.
