Well, got the flowmaster cat back system in from 21st century exhaust and took it yesterday to get the JBA off and this one put on. The flowmaster went on much more smoothly than did the JBA. All we had to do was cut 37.75 off the H pipes because I have a regular cab and everything else lined up perfectly.
If you remember, the JBA sounded ok at idle and ok on throttle but the cab drone while cruising between 1500-2000rpms was unbearable. Even my wife complained about it and she typically doesn't care about things like that.
When I started the truck after putting on the flowmaster, I could tell the tone was deeper. Even the muffler guy commented on the deep sound. When pulling out and going through the gears, the truck maintains that deep aggressive sound--unlike the JBA that gave up at certain rpm's. While cruising between 65-75 where the rpm's run between 1500-2000, the truck is much much quieter now. Hardly no drone to speak of. I couldn't be happier. Oh yea, my low end is back. The truck has immediate throttle response again and has no trouble squeeling the tires.
I'm going to do my best to get clips and post them before the weekend so you can hear it first hand.
I'll work on pictures and sound clips in the next few days.
I ordered from 21st century exhaust in Florida. They had it in stock, shipped the same day I ordered and I received it in two days--I'm in Virginia though. Retail is like $875 but that's retail, I got it for $475 plus shipping.
There number is (800) 276-6399 not sure about a website.
This may or may not be important to you but just remembered the system has an H-Pipe also known as an exhaust crossover. An exhaust crossover is a pipe that connects the two separate exhaust pipes and allows the pulses to even out. Without the crossover, from an exhaust standpoint, your engine acts as two separate halves. That's not to say it's a requirement because I don't know for sure, but from what I've hard, your exhaust will sound better, the interior will have a better quality sound, and it may help with power.
Other than a rumble - what, "I got to have it reason" can I give my wife? I tow 6500 pounds. I don't want to lose any towing power in the low end.

mwatch, between a Volant CAI and aftermarket exhaust, my gas mileage increased by 6.6% at least when i keep my foot out of it. maybe you could call flowmaster or one of the other premium exhaust companies or serf there websites for any benefits other than sound.
eddiekid - how much was shipping? Did it arrive in good condition? Any effects on towing power? I am still a little concerned about cab drone. I'll drive 18 hours at a time. A bad drone would drive me crazy. I suppose I could always dynamat the floor.

I think shipping was around $65. Not sure if that would vary by state or not. Everything was packed well. The muffler was in a separate box and had styrofoam or something like that around it. The pipes were in box 2 with a small amount of packaging materials. The tips and hardware were in a small box located with the pipes. I had no damage whatsoever to anything. The pipe box did rattle a lot and made me nervous when i moved it to the garage but nothing was hurt. I had a JBA on the truck and had lost some low end torque but immediately noticed a stock like throttle response with the flowmaster. I get little or no drone between 65-75 but the rpms are around 2k but if you tow a lot that could be a different story. Flowmaster does have a hushpower resonator that may work with this system. You could check with them to make sure it would work just in case you got it and the drone was too loud. I can say this, the drone is no worse than the TRD exhaust. I drove a crew max with the factory TRD exhaust before I bought the flowmaster and the flowmaster is louder outside but with better drone control -- IMO.
Scroll back up to 07 Firecrew's reply. He posted a picture of it and that's exactly how it looks. Dual In/Out with an exhaust crossover. You can exit each side of the truck or you can take it out the back. You have both options in the box and can always change it up in the future.
