Default Anybody have side exit exhaust in front of rear tires???

I'm going to be getting a whole new exhaust system installed on monday...I'm getting a true dual system with two 40 series flowmaster mufflers or maybe magnaflows but in any case I was trying to decide how I should have the exhaust routed...I like the looks of the duals straight out the back of the truck and the ones that angle out the sides like the TRD system but I was also thinking of a dual side exit in front of the rear tires on the passenger side of the truck...Just like the F150 Lightnings had...Anybody done this type of setup on their 5.7 Tundras and if so pics would be much appreciated?? Also any pics of the duals straight out the back would be cool too because I haven't seen that type of setup in person either on a 5.7. Any opinions or creative ideas as to how I could have the exhaust routed would be awesome! Thanks.

One of this forums members, (I can't think of his user name at the moment) has the 2 pipes routed out the side in front of the wheel. He has a video/sound clip of it on youtube. It's a black shortbed regular cab. Just do a search on Tundra exhaust. The sound clip is pretty disorted though from being inside a building.

Ford tried this with their F-150 trucks in 1997. The exhaust exited in front of the passenger side rear tire. I worked at a few dealerships and every Ford that had that exhaust has severely corroded aluminum wheels from taking all that combustion moisture off the exhaust. Many 1997 trucks were retrofitted to a conventional rear exit exhaust once the problems stared becoming apparent. Maybe it was cheap wheels, maybe not. All I know is that I'd consider than before routing my exhaust in front of a wheel.

Other than the corrosion issue on aluminum, I like the look of it, and it avoids the bends over the axle.

I had F-150 Lightning and never had any problems mentioned above with side exhaust routed in front of the rear wheel

Here you go -

side exhaust

exhaust on dyno

I love my side exhaust. It has zero drone and sounds just the way I want it to. It's a flowmaster 50 series muffler with 2.5 inch piping.
