I was wondering, does it help the power or the fuel economy?
Thanks,
Mark H
Not really, at least it doesn't seem to in my opinion.
But, it doesn't take away either.
Had it on for the last 15,000 miles or so...
Just sounds and looks great.

TRD claims it gains a few hp. I would tend to believe them, however you will not likely notice improvements less than 10-15 hp using only "seat-of-the-pants" impressions. When I installed TRD duals on my Gen 1 it only improved a single tenth at the dragstrip. That being said, others have found these trucks tend to run very rich, both stock and when mods such as the duals are bolted on. Using some outboard electronics to lean down the air fuel ratio and optimize full throttle performance yielded very significant gains for some, which should make the additions more effective.
Although I acknowledge the quality of the TRD system, I would likely get a custom system done if I had to do it again. As others have stated, you can get more for less money.
The general consensus is that those who have them or want them, love em. Those who dont have them or dont want them, dont think they are great (i.e. can get more bank for buck elsewhere, doesnt sound good, doesnt look good, etc etc)
I am now going an extra day between fill-ups since installing the TRD duals. It also seems to no longer have the "hesitation" when you first go to accelerate.
Love my custom setup...Magnaflow 14" dual in/dual out with 4" stainless Magnaflow tips...She rumbles...to say the least! Oh yea and $400 out the door is not bad either!
No I did not. I like it. It's hard to tell (because you had your foot on the floor most of the time), but is it only really loud when you really get on it? The one where you slowed down after you passed sounded like it would be pretty quiet under easy driving.

Yea I like having the foot to the floor lol...Its not too loud when just cruising. On the highway its a nice light rumble.
