Performance Exhaust SystemsDetailed discussions regarding performance headers, single, dual, street and off-hard racing exhaust systems for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Cheapest place to get a bolt on exhaust", within the Performance Exhaust Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Im looking at exhaust for a 2008 Tundra DC, im looking at Borla or Magnaflow mostly as out of the ones ive dealt with in the past I like these best. Just looking for the best deal as im looking to do a Volant intake at the same time to see if I see power gains and maybe a mpg increase if im lucky, thanks
Any good exhaust shop could fab up a nice dual or single Magnaflow or Borla system for you. Got my custom Magnaflow dual in/dual out with 4" magnaflow tips sytem for $400 out the door. Labor, parts, everything.
The cheapest bolt on exhaust (that I know of) is the JBA system and you can pick one of those up for around $400 on ebay. I'm not sure what the gains are, but if you search, you'll find more info on that system.
Went the Borla route myself. Also went a week without hearing it. I think I needed a new pair of boxers after I started it up and drove it around. I don't know how people can do the stock exhaust.
Anyway, I posted some sound clips up here on the forum. If you search for Borla sound clips you should be able to find them really easily.
Paid out the wazoo for it but I hear you can get it for like $900 on a few websites.

How much are Borla Mufflers? I may just get a muffler and have the shop fab up the tubing depending on price, what muffler would I need?
Borla muffler's are really expensive. I think their cat-back is a pretty good price since it's all T304 stainless with nice tips as well that are T304 stainless. Mandrel bent piping is another plus.
Here are all the links to my soundclips. My exhaust probably got a little bit louder since these were taken.
In the drone video was your windows down? I really like that sound just not wanting overkill when I go on 5-8 hour trips, dont wanna hear a super loud exhasut always to my destination, but very nice sound. If I go the full Borla route I want the split side exhaust.

Yeah, I drive 13-14 hours, or about 900 miles, on my trips to school. It doesn't bother me at all. IMO, there is no drone, just pure bliss. At 60-65 it's fairly loud, what you heard in the video, which my speakers don't even pick up really, but it's not drone IMO. I don't drive at those speeds, and when I do it's because of traffic and I love the sound. I really only drive with my stereo on on the highway. I pretty much always listen to my exhaust around town or my stereo on like 10 so I can hear the exhaust over it.

Oh yeah, my windows were closed but I think my slider window was open so that way it'd eliminate any wind noise but I'd be able to hear the exhaust a bit better.
