i didn't want my dad to spend $800-900 on a corsa system although it was the type of sound we wanted. plus i wanted to do a true side exhaust setup exiting right before the tire. we all know that corsa do not sell just their mufflers for trucks and suv, but they do have universal ones for cars(small mufflers). i was lucky enough to obtain a corsa muffler off a tahoe/yukon, brand new btw and ordered up a corsa tip to complete the setup.
with the muffler and tip, i was off to the exhaust shop to get it done. i told them a wanted a custom 2.5" y-pipe and 3" piping after the muffler, using all stainless steel mandrel bend tubes. they ordered the parts for me and i went back the following weekend.
the shop did a pretty good job with the setup and my dad is very happy with the look and sound. almost no drone at all, just a very slight hum, but nothing like other exhaust systems. the sound really wakes up after 4,000rpm. this is with the corsa sport muffler btw. for my dad, it's perfect. very little to no drone while cruising and driving around town while having the classic corsa sound when to go WOT.
