Default True Dual Exhaust

What is the sound and performance difference between a truck with a true dual exhaust vs. an exhaust with just one muffler? And is the greater price worth the performance increase?

I've had true dual on my 3 previous trucks (98 sierra z71, 02 f150 Crew cab, 05 NissanTitan) and I love the sound, granted i only ran straight pipes on all of them and I lost my bottom end on very one but I liked the sound, I switched to a dual in single out magnaflow on my Titan and it made a night and day difference, so a good single will perform as good if not better than true duals and your cost will be less, I did a "hybrid" system for my Tundra, I got a single in single out 18" magnaflow and a magnaflow y pipe installed and the next day I had the muffler take off and straight piped, what can I say I love the sound of straight pipes, but it sounds great and although I have not dynoed it I'm sure I didn't loose any power, here's a link to my set-up, hopefully it's ok to post a link on here...if not .....my bad...

true duals will sound alot better. But on these "toyota" engines, true dual hurts the performance cause they have no displacement. So go single in, dual out.

I just had a 22" magnaflow dual in/single out installed and it sounds much better. It also pulls a little harder without sacrificing torque.

I would think on your motors true duals will not help you vs a single exhaust set up, you might actually lose some low end power. I think duals sound better, especially with a h-pipe. Though I wouldn't worry about duals, a single catback system will work just fine.
