Doug Thorley long tube headers facts, graphs, pics and video
Hey guys and gals just wanted to post some facts about our new 5.7L long tubes and answer any questions you might have...
The headers are available right now!
URD has developed a o2 sim that is really neat and is also plug and play. This eliminates the cel that is created by deleting the front cats.
These are Tri-y's and, as you may already know, this design method is far better than a 4 into 1. Period.
These are built the Doug Thorley way, tuff!! They are made from 14ga. (.083) mild steel and will come in a ceramic coating as a standard feature! These carry the Doug Thorley lifetime warranty, as always.
The install is way easier than the shorties and it will probably take you longer to remove the stock stuff.
No welding is required and all you will need is a hacksaw to cut the factory head pipes. This is totally reversable in case you need to return your truck to stock however, you will need to weld your pipes back together.
The gain is power is geniune and accurate with both na and s/c trucks. see graphs bellow. Just for fun, we compared the s/c Tundra to the Dodge srt10 and like "Dubya" says, it will smoke it. URD's Tundra is a blast.
All hardware is included and uses Toyota style Gaskets. No leaks, ever!
Clear and precise instructions, but like always, you can call and we will take all the time you need to make sure your install is trouble free. Our design engineer, Jamie, is always available to answer any questions you may have at 951-733-1052.
I know somebody posted our video, but just in case, here it is again. We had alot of fun making it so please enjoy.
This dyno graph is a bone stock truck vs. our long tubes. As you can see we made power across the entire rpm band with the greatest increase at 3300 or so. Right where you need it.
The second graph is of the otherwise stock, supercharged Tundra with stock manifolds vs. our long tubes. An amazing increase to say the least.
Just for fun, the third dyno graph is the s/c Tundra vs. The Dodge srt10.

Also, here are some pics of the headers. Enjoy!!
Pat yourself on the back guys - You just took the 3UR-FE into 100 hp/liter territory. With 20% drivetrain loss the 461 HP at the wheels is 576 HP at the crank. (Info from dyno chart vs. SRT-10).
Question - Is the only thing done to the truck in the dyno vs. the SRT-10 the TRD SC, the LT headers and the prototype exhaust?

Yep.... And believe me, this truck is no where near being done with making power.

Okay rumors.. well we all know how they go. Has anyone actually done this with a 07-09 Tundra 5.7L? And if so did moving the sensor get rid of the check engine light?

DT Long Tubed Headers!!!!( Now that is a spicy meat ball)
Blue LED Dash and Instrument illumination
TRD Anti-Sway Bar, left red at least they can recognize that color.
Naked, no one will ever know what just passed them up. Heck they probably don't even know the color.

I guess the lack of responce indicates no one has tried this.

after the install of mid pipes w/out cats on my truck the check engine light came on.... drove her for several months like that until 1 day she star idleing funny and the smell coming out of the exhaust was horrible.. your eyes can berely stand it (bad a/f mix) by that time my sensors had been going bad because I never put 02 sims on the new pipes... so had to replace the 02 sensor and also installed 02 sims.... reset the pcm by disconecting the battery for about 2 hours and she beeing running perfect since then...... no mre check engine light...
ps. my truck is not a Tundra but I think you guys have to install 02 sims to cheat the pcm. just the way we do it w/ the srt10's
