Default 2007 Remove 2 Rear Cats

Alright so I have True Dual Flowmaster 10 Series on my truck and it is loud as sh!t, but I want it to be a tad louder to show up the Fords and Chevys with straight pipes (I already give them a run for their money and I can still get my truck inspected, they cant).

Has anyone removed the two rear cats on their 2007+ tundra? From what i can tell there should be no problem doing this since only the front two are monitored by the ECU. Is this correct?

If anyone has done this how did it affect the sound? any notice in power increase?
Any negative effects?

I should have no problem getting inspected here in NC right? my 2000 Tundra has only two cats as most trucks do so I would think I would get inspected fine with just two cats.

If you get your truck inspected, then definately don't remove them ( against the law anyway). The inspection goes by what the factory supplied on your truck, not by what other year vehicles have. I seriously doubt you would gain anything anyway, except for some possible headaches. Also the rear cats should be monitored by the ECM for cat efficiency, are there not O2 sensors behind these cats ?

No, there are no o2 sensors behind the secondary cats which I assume is why many people say they are for further sound muffling and because they are required in California (same reason 2000-2006 cali tundras came with 3 cats instead of two).

The o2 sensors are right before the second set of cats, so I don't see any reason that the ecu would throw you any codes. It should be safe go for it!

DT Long Tubes modification!!! - Pictures Included

I need to point out something to those who are running DT LT headers, with your already cancelled front cats, cancelling the rear cats will cause the valve tapping sound associated with aftermarket headers to increase alooot and the truck will sound much louder.. Like MUCHHH louder!! I didn't like it, i actually ended up removing the pipes and going back to the stock rear Cats... You should be able to decrease this by adding resonators but for me it was too much, and the smell of fuel goes out of the door, im not exactly green but damn when i pass next to a tree i can see it drying up lool J/K

Hope this helps
