Hi,
I'm redoing my exhaust and have some thoughts I'd like a second opinion on.

Starting at the headers I would like to install Doug Thorley Ceramic Headers (#THY-508C), from there a 3inch pipe to 2 highflow 3inch cats, the pipes would meet at a 3 inch x pipe then be dumped into Magnaflow 3inch duel in/ 3 inch duel out 12599 , finally turn down tips. I was debating on a 2.5 duel in/out 11386, to keep back pressure. I want a deep growl because cams are next .

Any thing I should consider before I go out and buy all this hardware?

Thanks in advance.
Benjamin

3 inch is over kill, you'll lose bottom end torque, unless you plan on useing a supercharger or turbo i'd suggest the 2.5.

I do plan on installing a FI system once I find one that I like. The TRD supercharger doesn't fill my desire. I expected the low end loss, but it should sound sweet She has an appointment to see the exhaust doctor next Wednsday when the headers come in

I would go with the 2.5" exhaust otherwise your low end will probably suffer...3" true dual exhaust setup for our trucks is just too much...just my opinion though...even the 2.5" true dual may not be the best for performance...just let us know what you decide on and try and post some audio clips when its all done

3" Tubing is well past over kill, even with a high volume FI system
There is no possible way you could utilize that amount of flow volume on a daily driver.I have a 6 sec Nova that has a full 2.5" DOT Legal exhaust, detuned it runs pretty good on 93* pump gas. These Tundra's will never see such HP levels in street trim.

I dont think your going to like an X-Pipe/MagnaFlow if your looking for "growl".Pingy, popping, rattling may be your thing I dont know ??

I would recommend you set the "truck" up to handle your future HP plans.
Suspension, brakes, tires and several class's on performance driving wouldn't be a bad thing either.

My $.0¼

Hi,
Thanks for your input Negra, 2.5 inch pipes will be put inplace of the 3 inch. but I'm still gonna have that x-pipe run into the Magnaflow.

As far as the pingy, popping, rattling being my thing....... Nope
I'm scratching one thing off my to do list at a time because money isnt flowing like a river for me

Thanks,
Benjamin
