Default MPG and power drop post JBA install

Guess I need some help trying to figure this one out- I installed a set of JBA's on my '01 Sequoia and noticed that it had plenty of power and good mpg readings on the trip computer for about 20 miles. After that the truck became more sluggish and the mpg dropped significantly. After 450 - 500 miles it never picked back up. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer and again, it ran good for 15- 20 miles before going to pot again. Any suggestions? I don't hear any leaks or noise other than what sounds to be header noise at higher rpms. The nice loud Toyota supplied ticking is at least gone... but at what cost.

That strange that you've had a noticeable change in performance one way or the other. The only thing I saw was a slight change in my exhaust note when I installed JBA's on my 2000 Tundra V-8 and no noticeable difference in power or mileage over the two years after the install. My OEM manifold had cracked also.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

Yes- It is noticeable after the first few miles. I must have something going on that is causing the computer to adjust it to that point. I was hoping it would come back around, but after putting close to 500 miles on it the first time I gave up and reset. Just looking for anyone who might have had a similar experience or an epiphany. Thanks

Disconnect the battery lead and let the truck sit for about 10 min with the ignition in the "ON" position.
Reconnect everything and take it out for "hard -run",really run the p!ss out of it for about 20 miles or so. Mix it up with stop and stomp.
A good top end run will let the ECM see your foot in its azz as well.

Teach the dog a new trick so to speak

Anything done with the intake setup on the truck? It can 'pass gas' great, but may suffer from lack of air after the 15-20 miles. Just curious here.
