Default Borla with existing front pipes?

Has anyone ever considered just getting this part from TRD Sparks and utilizing the existing front pipes on the truck for it instead of getting the whole kit? Borla Dual Cat-Back Exhaust at Sparks Toyota-Scion, Myrtle Beach, SC

Would it work without the front pipes? Just trying to save some money. I have considered the powersticks as well but believe they would be too loud for what I am looking for. Also I am considering the Cherry Bomb Vortex dual in/out 2.5" and going to a local muffler shop to have duals welded in.

I have the Borla system mentioned. It is unlikely the OEM front pipes would work directly without some fabrication, and given the costs associated with welding stainless / fabricating via a reasonably skilled welder, you will not be ahead financially. The front pipes are less than $100 at Sparks and are 304 stainless, as opposed to the lower quality 409 stainless in the OEM system.

Right. Just saw it was $92. Hmmm. It is a lot better price than I thought. Still might go the absolute cheapest route which is going to be get the muffler. Thanks for the heads up.
