Firecrew, I am not a dealer, so I don't know dealer cost.
As for the second question, I don't know if I understand what you are asking. The Tundra comes standard with a single outlet exhaust.

Wow! I was thinking of getting one too! Does it come with the instructions on how to intall and did you have to cut anything?
Yes, comes with easy instructions.
No, you do not cut anything, except the tape on the boxes it comes in. Simple unbolt the stock at the Cats, and bolt on the new one.

Even though the Borla bolt on is not available yet, I have a custom exhaust shop installing one on my limited dc tomorrow. They do their own custom bending so the muffler will be Borla with a dual side outlet stainless. I had the TRD dual on my 2000 Sr5 and switched it over to Borla the following year. The TRD is OK but can not compare to a Borla. Total cost including labor will be 458.00.

So your opinion is that the Borla is "better" based on a 7 year old design? How would you know on an 2007 5.7L engine that hasn't had one on it, or been compared to any of the others. Be it TRD, Magnaflow, Flowmaster or whatever. Intill numbers are presented in a unbiased test of the systems, your opinion is just that an opinion.
I have also heard opinions that the Borlas drone at some RPMs make people want to puke. Again, just opinions.
I know that the TRD Dual exhaust is not going to suit everyone. I do know that it added some Umpf and it sounds killer when I punch it but, I chose to stay with the manufacturer for one reason and one reason only...the warrantee stays intact. This brand new Tundra design is unproven. I don't want any room for debate if something was to happen. So it costs me twice as much, oh well. I got the effect I was looking for.

Excellent points. Doubt you will see any MPG gains as you enjoy your new exhaust initially I have also heard that an exhaust rumble on start up will help eliminate the imaginary "piston slap" issue.

MPG went down today by one. Everystop light is a race up to speed with the back windows rolled down. Played with a F150 today, he wasn't happy. Turned off the nannies and spun em for a bit. Yeah, I'll relax after a couple tanks, having too much fun right now.
I have really payed attention to motor sounds since all that slap stuff came up. Naked ear my motor purrs, did the ol' screwdriver stethoscope trick all over the motor, only clicking I can hear is injectors injecting.

Didn't mean to offend anyone on the TRD exhaust. I had it on my 2000 SR5 Tundra and it was nice. The seven year old design on the Borla is just that. It does not need to be improved on, however for our trucks the design is in fact new due to the "two in" versus the "one in" on the 2006. The warranty is intact on ANY exhaust as long as you do not go forward of the catalytic converter. At idle its only slightly louder than stock. The Borlas shine when you are doing a fast acceleration and there is a nice smooth rumble that is not overbearing. I've had Gibson, Flowmaster, Magnaflow, TRD, and Bassini systems over the years, mostly on my Dodge trucks and the Borla is my preference. I also saved myself 600.00 versus letting the dealer put the TRD on. Again, both are all stainless and its a matter of preference. I kept the truck on cruise at 65 for about 50 miles or so and the gas average was definately improved by .7 mpg. My Dodge is a 5.7 Hemi with the Borla so there should not be any real difference between it and the Tundra on exhaust performance, except my Dodge is chipped.
Just picked up my Crewmax Limited 4x4 with the TRD dual exhaust....not too annoying around town, but out on the highway at steady cruise at anything over 70mph, the steady drone is annoying after awhile....my old 04 DC was so quiet at freeway speeds...i do like the way it sounds when accelerating, but reminds me of the ehaust noise in the Titans at freeway speeds.
Rising Sun - what is your opinion on which one was the best performance wise out of all the ones you had?

I would have to say the Borla. Second would be the Bassani. The Bassani like my TRD and Gibson gave me a little too much drone in the cabs. I base my decision 50% sound and 50% performance. You can easily spend $1100.00 on the Bassani but Borla is pretty much identical and less money and the sound at idle is only slightly louder than stock. Once you tap the pedal its a whole different world.
Borla makes the TRD exhaust for Toyota
My Dodge 5.7 Hemi runs true Borla duals with 3 1/2 pipes off of Mopar headers so yes its extremely loud but thats what I wanted on the Dodge. The Borla on my Tundra is turning alot of heads, mostly due to the fact that I brought both pipes out of the passenger rear side at a 45 degree angle.
So without rambling on too much, my advice would be if the truck you want has the TRD duals then by all means buy it. If it does not have the factory duals then get a Borla and save yourself a few bucks.
My friend bought a single cab last week and he had the series 50 Magnaflow three chambers put on his and I have to admit it sounds very nice. It also has a two in two out configuration versus one in two out but he is getting alot of cabin drone. He likes it since his stereo is usually full blast anyway. Good luck on your decision.
Borla, Bassani, Gibson and the rest are all quickly jumping on the aftermarket band wagon so in a few weeks you'll have your pick of the litter unless you decide to go custom and do it now.
With all the performance flowers going out to Borla,TRD,Gibson and the like why is you never see "ANY" of their mufflers on High End Custom Performance Vehicles at venues like SEMA ?
**Paid Vendors/Sponsor excluded**
Most likely due to something along the lines of "AINT" Good Enough ?
Why dont any of them offer a "Lifetime Warranty" against "blow-in" or "blow-out" ?
TRD set-up involves swapping one 2:1"trash-can" size muffler for another 2:1"trash-can" size muffler only to exit with single/two out to the right
Im missing the logic in funds invested for these setups?
or is Logic even a factor?
