This is a discussion thread titled "Grille --- Black or Chrome??", within the Polls forum, part of the Off-Topic category.
I have found 4 different combos for the front of the 07's
1) Base = Black bumper and grille
2) SR5 = Chrome bumper and grille
3) Limited = Color match bumper Chrome grille
4) Sport pk = Color match bumper and grille
BUT....... how bout a Chrome bumper and a color matched grille???
Check it out and tell me what you think.
I know i know the truck is filthy but we had a tropical storm today and i didn't feel like washing it in the rain.

I have only had my truck a week, but I have decided I am in search of a painted grill. your truck looks great. did you buy the grill painted or have it painted in a shop?

Neither. I borrowed it off the parts truck at work.
I have to find out Monday if i can trade for good.
Now the parts truck is white with a chrome grille and a black bumper.
It actually does not look that bad.

Maybe it's just me because I like the simple, clean look, but am I the only one who thinks the truck looks better without the Rodeo belt buckle sized Toyota emblem dominating the whole front end of the truck? Different strokes for different folks ... I'm going with the Carraige Works billet grill and top grill piece. The one without the provision for keeping the logo. In the end, all that matters is that your truck looks good to you.
I like the look but personally rather have the least amount of paint up front as possible cuz it just doesn't hold up to road debris, salt, bugs etc. Just had the Clear Bra installed on my new Tundra so hopefully it'll hold up.

I have never been a fan of chrome, don't like it on cars or rims but i think on the tundra it really sets off the front end. personally i like the chrome. when black it just looks like any other truck to me... to each his own.
I'm not a big fan of the front look of the new Tundra, and the big chrome grill has a lot to do with it. I vote for the body color, which is one big reason I went with silver 'cause the chorme grill blends better.
But for practicality, I agree with MilesToGo on the paint chipping. My red '02 Tundra LTD had the painted grill/ bumper and it was pretty chipped up when I traded it after 100k. I'm hoping the chrome will last better, even if it's not a very pretty face.
BTW - I think the new Tundra looks too Dodge. Didn't keep me from getting one though.
