I have noticed various posts commenting on the 2007 features, ride and comfort from new owners with vastly different previous car ownership experience. I have had a pickup for personal transportation all my life with a small excursion of owning a '63 Corvair in high school.
Whenever I see comments concerning bumpy rides, fuel mileage, ride height and the like I try to figure out where the poster's previous point of reference is. If you're moving up from a Scion coupe, Lexus sedan, sports car or small SUV your impressions of the new Tundra must be vastly different than those moving down from a 1-ton mid-80's 4x4 heavy-duty domestic pickup with it's kidney-puncher ride and horrific mechanical attributes.
So let's hear it from 2007 Tundra owners. What kind of vehicle did you own and drive immediately before buying your new 2007 Tundra?

2001 4runner v6. Tundra is smoother and a lot more powerful. Also much wider interior with more comfortable seats. 4runner was best vehicle ever owned, until tundra.
-2001 Toyota 4-Runner (Wife's)
-1973 Ford F-250 (still a great truck)
Those are just my current vehicles, I have owned a bunch of different vehicles, 2000 Tundra, 99 Grand Am. etc.
I still love my old Ford though, My dad bought it new in 1973, I bought it from him about 15 years ago and it has been a work in progress ever since. Keeps me busy. Great Hunting Truck but at 5 MPG it can get a little expensive.
2002 Ford Ranger Edge 3.0L 4x2. I gave it to my girlfriend after I bought the new Tundra. There is no comparison on ride, handling or performance.
The Ranger is a tough little truck though. 90,000 miles with not one problem. It still has the original tires which are being replaced this weekend. The front brake pads, spark plugs, coolant, etc. were changed at 40k, fuel filters every other oil change and thats about it. Great truck....but no power. My girl said she pulled up next to a guy with an Edge just like hers the other day and he looked at her like "Oh man, I am driving a chick truck". She got a kick out of that.
2006 tundra AC limited. too car like for me, bought the 07 TRD also a little too car like ride but not as much as the 06 put a 3" spacer with an add aleaf and the ride is perfect I love my truck!

Previous truck was an F250. Great truck, but didn't need it any more.
For the heck of it, we test drove the Tundra one day, not even knowing the first thing about them. The ride was pretty smooth and quiet, so after doing some research for a few days (including lurking around this forum), we decided to trade. Couldn't be happier.
I had about $9600 invested in that bad boy...was pushing around 480hp something at the crank when i sold it.
It was a bad a$$ beast but it fails in comparison to the top notch quailty of the Tundra and Toyota in general. I am not the biggest advocate on brand loyalty, but i have only driven Toyotas and Dodges as my personal vehicle and i think i will stick with one or the other from now one.
