I really thought I'd keep her forever, but I think she can go any day now.

I think I'll always have a truck though, but the 04-06 DC would actually be more conducive to my lifestyle (hauling my nephews around, fishing trips, etc.).

I really dig the new gen CrewMax but the smaller bed kinda sux.

Anybody know off hand if the new 07 DC has the same space/legroom as an 06 DC in the back seat? I sat in the back of the 07 DC, and I wasn't overwhelmed with the space as I remember being when I sat in the back of the earlier 06 DC.

I have a 05 DC and I plan on keeping it for as long as it will last. Of course that is always my plan for every vehicle I buy, then something happens like someone hitting it while parked and totaling my car. My other car changes have been because of having children. With the DC I don't forsee needing more seats. I told the wife no more then 3.

I like the 07 but I was disappointed that the Crewmax only has a 5.5ft bed. Equally upsetting is that you can't get a DC Limited with an 8 ft bed. I think Toyota is really missing the mark here. I have a lot of friends who would consider the Tundra except for the lack of a 8 ft bed with leather.

I know I made the right decision getting the 05 DC although I tried to wait for the 07 but door falling off the 84 nissan 720 and the 212K miles it had push the issue. Looking back I am glad it happened. My 05 is already paid off. Just added leather making it easier to clean up after the little ones.

It would take something pretty major for me to give up this truck.

I tend to get bored with vehicles after about 3 or 4 years. Until I got my '03 Tundra, that is. I had a 4 year lease, and I just turned in the paperwork to buy it off lease. I just replaced the front brake pads on it last weekend, and I just ordered a 22" Magnaflow a few minutes ago. I wanted to talk myself into replacing the truck after 4 years, but the looks and size of the '07 helped to convince me that what I have is just right.

I agree that the 5 1/2' bed on the new CrewMax is a deal breaker for a lot of folks, but how freaking huge would a garage have to be to hold a CM with an 8' bed? That truck wouldn't say "Toyota" on the back of it, it'd say "Greyhound"! My '03 AC barely fits in my garage, I'd have to rent an airplane hangar to store a CM with an 8' bed. And parking the thing or maneuvering it in traffic...I'd have to hire a conductor to ride in the bed!

Probably a few more years. We'll see how she holds up. Not thrilled with the paint chipping on the grill, the front tire wear, gas mileage compared to the '07's, or the rattling front right door speaker (new one rattles, too).

The back seat in my DC is much better than the new DC's, but the width is much smaller. Legroom stinks in the new DC's for adults and rear facing child seats.

My '06 is paid off, so I'll sit pretty for awhile and sock some cash away in retirement. I may spring for aftermarket leather, but I kind of like not having the hot seats in the summer. I really need to update this horrid SR5 stereo. Sounds like Bose.

I agree. Toyota would sell a ton of DC Limited w/8ft beds. Alot of people want the whole enchilada when spending thier hard earned dollars. These are the same people who were waiting for the '07s to haul all of thier toys around.

I would have probably already traded if Toyota offered a '07 DC Limited with an 8 foot bed. My Tundra is becoming too small for my needs. I may go with an SR5 anyway.

Then I guess my impressions were correct. I don't have any toys to haul, so I'm not missing the bigger payload/hauling capacity. My dealer had a black 05 DC in the lot. May have to revisit the idea. Thanks.

I'll probably have mine forever then my son (or grandson) will take it over. I still have a 76 Blazer laying around here someplace. Vehicles don't rust at all here unless you drive em in the salt water in Mexico.

Likewise; long as possible, don't need any 'Bigger Newer'...

Except, is it really true that the 5.7 will bolt right in?

That would brighten up its senior years quite a bit!

I'll keep mine until my daughter is 16 (that's another 10 years) then she can have it. I wonder what my new 2017 Tundra will look like?
