I don't know I still like the Chrome bumpers like you but If you think about ts member(123gone)comment and using Line X as a New Product for bumper protection. Toyota should look into that as a new bumper coating on there full sized new 07 tundra . I hate plastic and I allways hated there application this is the prime reason I didn't get a new 05 Tacoma DC love the truck hate the Plastic smc Bed Toyota lossed that sale....

I don't understand WHY you hate a SMC bed. SMC, or composite plastic is lighter and stronger then steel in many regards. You still can have it Line-X'ed with the right surface preparation. I added "plastic" to my bed when I had my bedliner done. Yeah, I'd personally prefer steel for my bed, but SMC cuts down on weight.

igreed linex would be new if color matched with linex extra, actually i like the rubber bumpers without the chrome strip, but not for off road they should give the option other than buying a reg cab.

I guess i shouldn't use the word "hate" but it's more the product in My opinion isn't suited well with full sized trucks and Mid sized Truck like the Tacoma is used for. The Plastic wile great on overall weight savings and reduction still doesn't seem to provide the strength and Tensile Properties of a Steel Bed. Sadly Toyota should have provided owners a choice in the madder for the Tacoma Owner's vs making this a standard bed option Toyota has loosed a few sales because many owner's like me find Plastic to be rather week esp for the type of projects I do at home with loading rock's and boulders building a pond..
Re: New hybrid Tundra would you buy one if offered?
Some plastics are stronger, in tensile strength, then steel. I wish there were some tests I could quote, but plastic allows for greater strength and flexibility in some situations. Each have their own pros and cons, and some people don't mind the plastic bed.
I haven't heard of anyone CRACKING their plastic bed in their Tacoma. If in doubt, Line-X it. :-D

I dunno. I've been known to back my Tundra up to an end-loader, and get a yard of riverbed gravel dumped into it to take back and landscape the yard. I'm not sure how safe I'd feel doing that in a plastic bed.
Re: New hybrid Tundra would you buy one if offered?
YES! I do not want to pay for GASOLINE or Diesel any longer!I hope Toyota gets with it and gives what the consumer wants! I am waiting for a 4x4 Tundra Extension CAB. I do not know what Toyota is thinking by bringing out a Diesel 2010. We need the Hybrid, with the NiCad battery for extended charge, and light weight as mentioned in its articles. I am need of a new vehicle and a Tundra 4x4, with tow power Ext. Cab or Access Cab is what i will buy.
