Default Leather or Cloth?

Vote for Leather or Cloth interior based on what you have in your truck.

If you have cloth, post why you chose cloth... was it expenses or preference?

If you have Leather, post how old the vehicle is and the condition of the leather at the moment.

I have leather in both my vehicals the tundra is 2006 and the celica is a 2000 and the leather in the celica is just as good as the day we bought it. I love my leather. nothing kinky just on chairs.

I prefer cloth and made sure the Tundra I ordered was cloth. It gets plenty warm around here, and I hate wearing shorts and having legs sticking to the leather, or climbing into a hot vehicle in summer and cooking your buns on the leather.

Hey Everybody! Actually, I have been here before, just not in quite a while.

"Leather" and truck, something just isn't right about that; for me. Can't imagine jumping onto my leather clad seats to drive to the next fishing spot with wet stocking waders on. It gets a bit messy with moss, mud and sticks. I've always had cloth in my vehicles, and usually throw some blanket-type covers on those for the real dirty stuff. The ex went with leather in her Accord, it was nice "in the car" and had that luxury feel. I'll stick with cloth for now, but who knows, maybe I can be persuaded. I'd probably do leather if I had a work truck too that had cloth.

I never wanted leather....until I had it. I was forced to get dark leather because that's what the T3 Editions shipped with. Sure, black on black gets really freakin' hot in the summer. Imagine forgetting to crack the window and throw up the sun guard....whew. That's hot.

However, I fell in love with leather seats after having the T3 for a while. Bought in November of 2003, and it's still in great condition. The Limited DC I just ordered has the charcoal leather in it, and I don't think I'll ever have cloth again.

I like both just the same. Cloth is cheaper - so I went with cloth. I have cloth furniture in my house - why buy more expensive furniture for my cars and trucks?

I have a Ford F-150 with leather that I'm gonna sell here soon... I haven't missed my leather seats at all.

I have leather, as dog hair is much easier to get off leather vs. cloth. And I just plain like leather seats.

I disagree, I fish all the time and leather is perfect for wet waders, with the cloth the seats stay wet and collect dirt. You also won't get sand embedded in the seats like you will with cloth. There is nothing better than sitting on leather with your wet waders and the seat heater on.

Leather, installed aftermarket. I knew I wanted leather going into the purchase, but wasn't willing to pay the dealer markup. I had a Classic Soft Trim kit added and I love it.

1. Easier to clean
2. Easier to clean
3. I have 2 children, so I love the fact that it is...easier to clean

Leather is one of those things that you don't miss if you never had it. I was talked into getting leather in our camry when we first had kids and I thought it was a big mistake. Completely the opposite. Leather is extremely easy to maintain, holds up well under car seats and above all resists stains and repels most liquids (if you keep it nice and conditioned).

Leather all the way

I said leather as I have never had leather. Looking to get a crewmax and was thinking about getting leather but the cost is so much more. I can get a sr5 and then add leather if I wanted to. I still may go and get the limited as I do not like to add anything after market. My friends owns a car shop and in his dodge he put on leather covers. If you did not know you would think he bought them like that from factory.

So its hard to say. To save money up front. is nice. You really only get leather and heated seats as you can get all the other options on a sr5. It will depend on me when I buy.

I say im in the middle.

Cloth for me, leather or vinyl in 95 degree heat is just hot, leather will wear, and the surface can scratch, cloth gets dirty but its cooler and if damaged its cheaper to repair, I use a custom water proof cover using the same cloth used to make the seats, from Seat Covers for All Car and Truck Makes and Models - Exact Fit Seat Covers from GT Covers.
I wouldnt turn down leather if the price was right, but thre are very good reasons to get cloth.

I second this. Samething applies to when it's cold. For those of us not privileged to have heated leather seats, all warmth is sucked out of your body by the cold leather.

Leather is nice but I prefer cloth for the same reasons others have said;it's too hot here in FL for leather, for me. But there was no choice, anyway. I got the "work truck". It suited my needs perfectly. And no carpet to clean! I hit the woods & water often. If have to, I'll throw a seat cover over the bench seat but I like the feel of the cloth in the '05 Tundra. And I'm not knocking the leather I just like cloth.
