Re: Cheapest deal I found on a new Tundra- even beats Barkley!
Where did you get your truck? The lowest I can get a limited for down in New Mexico is 35,300....which is far more than anyone else.....I've been sending internet quotes everywhere.
If I could get a limited for your price...I'd already have one.
Re: Cheapest deal I found on a new Tundra- even beats Barkley!
In bought it in Feb.from Carson Toyota in Carson Ca. I bought it from Dianne who is a mod here. She now works at Toyota of San Juan Capistrano.
I drove 1350 miles round trip in 27 hours to get it. It was an Internet special a few weeks after the Tundra was first released.
It was the easiest car/truck purchase I ever made, I was at the dealer ship about 1 hour, then drove over 650 miles straight home.
Here is a partial copy of my contract.
Re: Cheapest deal I found on a new Tundra- even beats Barkley!
Thanks so much....I guess I need to go to California or North Carolina to buy a Tundra as the dealerships here won't go lower than 34,900 including all rebates....
MSRP 38040 including the dealer added tint and lineX.
Here are my numbers from a purchase in the Southeast (SET region GA):
30,819 + doc fee 499= price of truck=31,318+tax 2059+tag 66= 33,443 OTD.
MSRP 38040-31318 price of truck = 6722 off of MSRP
Building the truck on edmunds dealer invoice was 31,417 plus I added 400 for the value of the tint and lineX (I think I put the LineX and tint at a fair number). So my adjusted dealer invoice to include the LineX and tint was 31,817
So edmunds dealer invoice was 31,817 -I paid 31417 = 400 below dealer invoice. This basically matched the trucks dealer invoice that they gave me.
Below is how I determined what to pay. If my example is to confusing go to carbuyingtips.com and down load their offer spreadsheet and fill it in.
Here is how I determined what I would pay:
1) determine dealer invoice for the truck. Get the dealer to give you this sheet. Compare it to edmunds to make sure it basically matches (use the lower of the two) you might have to manually add some stuff to value things that are not factory--in my case the LineX and tint (mine was 31,817 net of the 3k rebate);
2) take the MSRP** and minus the destination charge of like 735;
3) take the figure you get in #2 above and minus 3% from that (EX:
38040 MSRP**- destination 735 = 37305 x 3%= $1,120) 1,120 represents toyota's dealer holdback that they will pay to the dealer at the end of the quarter that the truck sells in;
4) take dealer invoice 31,817 (again net of the rebate), and minus the 1120 holdback = 30697;
5) 30,697 represents the dealers breakeven point (based on the info that the public has available to us);
6) then offer what ever you want knowing that 30,697 is the breakeven point. So I offered 30819+499 doc fee=31,318. As I see it the dealer made:
31,318 my offer - 30,697 their actual cost =621 profit and they moved a truck with a build date of 7/07 in mid 8/07. So very little of the hold back will go to their floor plan interest.
* I added the dealer ad ons to my MSRP above to calculate the holdback. You should really use the MSRP on the actual window sticker to make this calculation. In my case in would only change the numbers above by about $60

Who did you deal with a Toyota of Roswell? I requested a quote from their internet department on an 08 Crewmax. The best offer Juan came back with was $1000 off of MSRP. Milton Martin is offering about 300 off of Invoice for 07's but seeing how comparatively equipped 08's are about $800 bucks cheaper, 07's don't look like such a good deal.

His name was Rich Tropkak or something. I will tell you that he quoted the truck I bought for about 3k more than I paid. I called him back told him his dealer invoice was wrong and that I would pay 31k. He argued with me and the said "well come and get it then". After I signed the paperwork, he called me unethical, a liar, and told me that I had fabricated the edmunds invoice I brought to show me. Then he refused to speak to me or walk me out to the truck and show me how some the options worked or see me off. He was actually mad.
In my experience in dealing on these trucks the best up front pricing is a World Toyota on, I think its Peachtree Industrial, just inside 285. There is an internet sales guy there named Willy, he just did not have the truck I wanted on the lot and Roswell did, so I did the deal at Roswell.

I just picked up a crewmax XPS otd for 25,855.00. I got it at Mike Erdman In Merritt Island. It was a good deal I got 7K off of sticker plus 1500 loyalty cash from my trade.

I would have walked out if a stealership did that to me. On a personal note I have done that @ Marrietta Toyota they flat out suxx to tell me they have the car in stock and i walk in and being lied to about price. I can't stand certain sales people some of them are flat unethical and like to tell you anything to make there day. I deal with Sandy springs I like the service and I like the customer surport everybody else in the atl area suxxx maybe that explain the attitude driving around hear guess with long travel times that pretty well explains it there.why is it soo hard to find good service in this area beet's me .

They can think or call me whatever they want it does not matter, the bottom line is I got what I wanted at the price I wanted. Plus, I got the last word on the survey Toyota sent me. Further, I do my service at Sandy Springs so I won't walk in there again.....well I might in 6-7 years when I need another car. I buy on price and price only so I buy where I can get the deal I want. I agree with you about Marietta, they were high pressure with a high price. As I originally stated, the people at World were nice and most competitive from the start, just did not have what I wanted and what they did have had old build dates.
By the way, where in GA do you live, your handle looks familiar to me. A few years back I gave a guy on this site a set of steel rims from my 2000 Tundra, he was a water distributor, is that you????

If you were to subtract all the options except TRD the price would have been $30,792 + tax etc.
Not that much more than the SR-5 in the first post.
Pm'd you...
