Cliffy, I had read somewhere that Toyota was coming out with some new policy regarding exports. Have you heard of anything new coming down in the last few weeks?
That's a good solution. Not an easy one, but a good one. Believe me... if there were a way to sell to a Canadian, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I need the business and if you can get a corportation, that's good enough for me.

I have not heard of anything new on this end. If I do, I'll post it here.

Cliffy,

The cost was about $1500 for the incorporation and legal bills. Not great but if it allows you to save $12,000, probably worth it. Also, the titling in Alaska was done via courier and took about a week...(includes courier to and from).....really was quite painless....

Now that you have incorporated, how long is this good for and would it have to be renewed annually? Or are you set to go get your new '09 Sequoia to add to your fleet?

Stuball,

Its a nominal fee for the annual renewal. You can either keep it going or simply wind it up. I am hoping to use the company to purchase some quads in the not so distant future......

Regards,

The hard part is that we use to just play dumb like we didnt know where the vehicles are going. Now Toyota doesnt care if we are dumb or not. We are suppose to investigate to make sure it isnt going outside of the states. There are several dealerships that are in for a very rude awakening coming up real soon. It is a damn shame cuz we sure would love to sell to you

Who pays the bill for bringing in Sherlock Holmes to spy on the customer...the dealer or Toyota? And what extent of an investigation is required by the dealer to satisfy Toyota's requirements?

I think the onus would be on Toyota to prove the dealer of any wrongdoing. After all, even big business can't utilize Mexican laws in the USA.
