Pricing and DealersDiscussions that are specific to vehicle pricing, preferred dealer pricing, current incentives, rebates, and experiences.
This is a discussion thread titled "Cash Back Deal", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
2008 Tundra has $3500 cash back until the end of February. Does anyone know what special, if any, starts in March? Do you think they will up it to $5000 like the 2007 has now? Trying to decide if I should buy now or wait to see if they offer a better deal.
Good luck with that....since they are truck of the year and many "most wanted" models and options are hard to find, you will probably not see that deal for a while. They may be willing to deal on a DCSB or RCSB with no options, but don't hold your breath on the others....IMHO.
The Tundra is definitely the hottest selling truck in the country now which doesn't bode well for incentives except Toyota is hell bent on making inroads into Ford, GMC, and others, and the way to do that is to continue incentives, sell as many Tundra as they can, getting the word out and increase their market share.
I've heard (for whatever its worth) that possibly March will have larger more generous incentives because most all of the 07's have been sold. At least that is what I'm banking on; hoping to buy my Tundra in March.
i am thinking about the samething. i cant decide if i should get a new one with the rebate or save 5k and get a 06 used. if the rebate increases in March, i think my mind will be made up.
God! Don't you people know how to buy a car? There's basically a $4K markup on these. Go in and tell them what you'll pay and for what. If they say they can't walk away and tell them you'll find a dealer that will. Or if you want something specific, lay it out on paper with all the codes for options you want, fax/email it to every dealer in your area and make them quote it for you. If you're willing to wait for it they usually will deal on the price because they know they can't get you on the whole emotional "gotta have it right now" trip.
Use cars.com and "build your own" to know what the invoice price should be and deal off of that. I was working with 2 dealers locally knowing what the new truck invoice was and what my 2005 Tundra trade in was worth and when 1 wouldn't make the deal happen, I called the other dealer and the deal was done. Knowing what invoice is will help your bargaining position.
we all know that you shouldnt pay more than invoice. what we are wondering is if the rebates will increase next month. that has nothing to do with the invoice.

Hey what'd you get for your '05. I just financed my '05 D-cab lease-end 'cause my local dealers "didn't want it" for trade (gas crisis they said????). Had a place in NH that would work with me, but didn't have a truck w/ my options (too many on the ones in stock, so I couldn't get to the payment I needed - for wife sign-off!!!)
Rebates will only go Up !! you can start negotiating with dealers and take delivery next month.. maybe they'll increase their rebates, but I doubt it since they just raised them this month.

Or they'll stay the same, which is more likely IMHO.
