How many of you getting 2008s @ invoice - cust cashback?
I seem to have read several people saying they have actually purchased 2008s at invoice - customer buyback amount.
How many of of you have purchased at this price level of invoice + x - customer buyback?
If so, how much over invoice did you pay.
I want to make an offer on an '08 that is structured as invoice (truck and options) + markup - customer buyback and I want to know what is realistic in terms of what people have actually been able to sign a deal for.

I just got a 2008 DC SR5 4x4 5.7L with TRD, JBL, Homelink, DRL, Deck Rail and All weather matts. I paid $250 over dealer invoice (I have a copy of it) and got the $2500 cash back. Came out just over 30K. MSRP was just over $36k.

Just bought a 2008 Double cab 4x4 limited w/Nav 5.7 for invoice - 2200 rebate. Traded my 07 SR5 double cab 4x4 5.7 TRD and 08 G37 for it. Great to have options of my G37 in a tundra.

I have a quote of $750 over invoice for an 08 4/4 CM limited, every option known to man except for TRD and Rear DVD. $47025
by the way I'm going to opt for 0% financing and hoping in March it goes from 36 to 48 or 60 months.

BTW, I sent emails to various local dealers for their "internet" pricing, most were over invoice, one was a couple bucks over. I called up my local dealer and told a sales guy I had a quote for $100 under, but would prefer to buy locally, and would buy from them today for $200 under invoice, they agreed. They tied to add additional dealer prep fees once I got there, after a round of back and forth of me telling them I would not pay it their fee, they backed off. Who knows, maybe I could have gotten a few bucks more off. Should be pretty easy to get it for invoice or under if you shop around a bit.

I bought a 4x4 5.7 DC SR5 yesterday for $500 under invoice, then less $2500 rebate. It probably wasn't the greatest deal I could have hammered out but it was acceptable. I'd spent so much time on the purchase decision that it was time to get it done. I was at my 2nd dealership too and it was great to work with a good salesman (the #1 guy in MD, #17 in the nation) rather than the obsequious hack I was working with at the previous dealer.
I bought a pricing report from Consumer Reports. Worth it, in my opinion, as I feel it saved me more than the $14 cost. The report isn't 100% complete. Built in to the invoice price is advertising ($500-600), the manual portfolio ($6), gas ($10). I don't have my notes here which is why the advertising is an estimate. The CR report will give you holdback too, so you can work your price up from their cost rather than down from invoice.

Thanks for all of the great information. Keep the info coming!
Based on the early feedback in this thread, I offered my local dealer invoice + $500 - customer cashback out-the-door for a DC 5.7 4x4 limiited that he has to order for future delivery (not on the lot) and he immediately accepted.
Maybe I should have been even more aggressive...
I'll post with final pricing info once I have the paperwork to review.

This forum is great source of info!
Out the door? Assuming you're in a state with sales tax then that's a good deal. Tax, tags, etc definitely adds up. 5% of $30k is $1500, throw in a few hundred more for the extra crap and you're getting near $2k.
