Pricing and DealersDiscussions that are specific to vehicle pricing, preferred dealer pricing, current incentives, rebates, and experiences.
This is a discussion thread titled "2009 Tundra Options, Colors, etc.", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
We will be ordering several 2009 Tundra's on May 12th for work through our fleet company(Enterprise Fleet Services). Anybody have any ideas if there are any changes for the 09's, options or colors? We can't see the options till then(12th), so I figured maybe someone would have the inside track and already know.
I'm sure they'll be pretty much unchanged, but i don't know for sure. I'd imagine you know about the tundra grade? If you're going to tow heavy loads with them, i would advise you to be sure they come equipped with the manufacturers tow package (not add on).
You are smart to go thru enterprise. We just got a company van thru them, and from what they told me on toyota products is this. You can buy any toyota vehicle at invoice less any rebates.
It would be best to get them when they have some good rebate incentives going on. Don't know what they have now. $2500 ???
So far it's been a good experience with enterprise.
2009 Tundra Options list available May 12??? I placed an order last week on a 2008 Tundra and I asked if I could get a 2009 instead but the dealer said he couldn't do that because they don't know what other options were going to be available for '09 and they didn't know what the price of the '09 would be even though they said the price usually goes up a few hundred.
I sure would like to know about any new 2009 Tundra Features/Options/Accessories, especially since the production date for my '08 Tundra isn't available yet even though my order was accepted.
Yeah if you know them on the 12th I would like to look at them as well ... hell they didnt even make a 2008 until October 1st this year and they werent on the lots until mid October ... I guess they are producing them early this year ???

My guess it won't be out any more then a month earlier then last year . because of slowing sales like last year delayed the release of the 08 . Also toyota tends to release the next year model the same time after the last . Look at the matrix the 09 is out already and they will not be releasing the 2010 till next spring . As this is when the first one came out in February 03 as a 03 model Matrix .

Yeah they will be available for order on the 12th. Delivery is expected the first week of September. I'll let you guys know what I find out next week.
We have a fleet of 30+ vehilces through Enterprise fleet services, and the prices can't be beat. It just takes 16 weeks for Toyota's, but only 4 to 5 for all other manufacturers.
I went to Fred Haas here in Houston on April 27th, and the fleet guys there told me that they got verification earlier that week that the 09 will be available in August, ANNNNNNNNND they said they got confirmation that the 09 Crewmax will be available with a longer bed (I cant remember if they said 6 or 6.5 ft bed). I'm trying to track down some pics of the CM with the longer bed, but haven't had any luck. If it looks good, I will be waiting til August to buy my Tundra.
I'm looking at the 2009 "Spec book" right now and I don't see any changes that indicate a 6.5' bed on a CM. I'll keep looking and get back with any changes I can find.

Hmmm... Nothing on a standard bed CM, but I did find that there will be a number of Flex Fuel models available. There will also now be a bench seat SR5 which we didn't have in 2008 but did in 2007.
There is also a "Road Warrior" package for the "grade" models and I have no idea what that means.

Thanks, Cliffy 1. It's looking like a Chevy crew 2500 or F150 crew. I need at least a 6.5 ft. bed and will be buying this fall. Even if I could get by with a 5 ft bed, I don't think it qualifies for IRS form 179 accelerated depreciation. Too bad. Any other changes in the DC limited for '09? And, do you have any idea about production/delivery dates? Are you taking orders?
Production starts the first week of August. Tenatively, we should have them by the end of August, but if I were asked to make a promise, it would be for early September.
I have not started taking orders and generally prefer not to until we have pricing. I also prefer not to take orders until we actually start getting them allocated. That will not be until late June or early July. If a person wanted to place an order, I could, but it would be understood that equipment and price is subject to change until we actually get them in the supply line.
As far as I can tell, there are no changes to the DC except they are adding flex fuel models. I don't yet know if that's E85 or CNG flex fuel. I'm hoping its not E85 as I really have issues with the politics of that. I have a feeling that I'm going to be disappointed at the answer when I find it.
The only other changes I can see is that memory seats are no longer standard on the CM Limited but will be an option as it already is on the DC Limited.
I should also comment on the source of all of this. This is from the Spec Book that dealers can see. Its the only guide that the regional distributors use when placing orders to the factory for the regions. Its VERY official and also very confusing. Its not a public consumption document and would cause all manner of confusion if sent out in raw form.
