Pricing and DealersDiscussions that are specific to vehicle pricing, preferred dealer pricing, current incentives, rebates, and experiences.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tundra Pricing in Canada", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
BTW, they may not deal in Canada, but the incentives are there, Someguy123. Today I was at my Toyota dealer and they were offering around $2000-3000 off the trucks they had on the lot. Not much of an savings incentive there.
Go ahead and buy your truck in the states and bring it home, danceagain. You'll realize about a $10000-$15000 savings if you do so. Beware though, if you do buy in the states, make sure you get someone that lives there to buy the Tundra for you after you hand the chunk of change to them and have them transfer title to you so you can take it home. The reason is simply because if a Toyota dealer is caught selling to someone in Canada from the states, they can be punished big time for it.
Buy in the states. There have been many threads and numerous postings on it...Its very easy to do and you can save yourself about $10,000...You can incorporate a US company and have them buy the vehicle for you...This gets you around Toyota's edict to on exporting vehicles.....You will incur about $1500 in legal bills but it is well worth it and VERY easy to do....If your finances allow it, do not bother buying in Canada....
I have found many dealers in the southern US that have no problems selling to Canadians .
Toyota Canada is a Joke . There prices and limited options compiared to the US make it a no brainer to buy states side . I know a couple Toyota sales men both being neighbors and they even say unless it's a small base model car they don't blame people for buying from the US as the prices don't make any sense .

I simply walked into my local dealership with a couple of ads, one was for a 2007 crewmax, 5.7 limited, tow package, backup cam, jbl, etc.. exactly the spec I wanted I said thanks to the salesman (I made sure I took a few test drives and showed interest), I was interested in a new vehicle.. but the private one was obviously more financial sense (It was on for 49k) but I didn't want it in green (wanted black).
The sales guy offered me the same truck, in black, with chrome step bars fitted, undercoated and protection package, backup camera, jbl, sat nav, all season mats for about 1k over the price as the 2007 private sale.. so I took it :-)
Unfortunately as I wasn't a permanent resident of Canada at the time, I couldn't go to the states (for other reasons!!).. now that I am, and with a do over.. I'd probably buy from the states.
i work in the states but am from canada (and will return once i'm done with this job) so when i was pricing out my tundra i did it for both Canada and the US.... the truck i have cost 37k out the door, it would have been about 52k before fees/tax in Canada - It's really a no brainer, that extra 15k can go towards the S/C and premium gas for a couple years

The Canadian dealers will deal. If you know *exactly* what you want, get on the phone and start calling around your area and all around Ont.. When you finally get a price that "agrees with you", give the local dealer a chance to beat it. I bought a base truck so my savings weren't huge, but the trucks price did come down about 20% after rebate and the dealers price reduction. Always get the "out the door price" for comparison. Sometimes they try to sneak admin (I refuse to pay), air tax etc, on later .
i'm actually planning on leasing the truck. if i go to the states to purchase (through american relatives) will i be able to bring the truck to canada ?
