This is a discussion thread titled "Lease wear and tear bill", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
So I turned in my '05 Tundra DC on 7/1. Just received a bill for wear and tear for about 340.00. I swear for 3yrs/54k this truck was in great condition. I had 3 door dings (small ones) that said required pdr at about 35-45 dollars each and a brand new windshield for 200. on the bill summary Why the windshield you may ask?? Because there was a rock chip less than a 1/4 of an inch but it was in a "driver's view". Can you believe that crap. So my question is .. where can I dispute this bill. I know it came in a letter with the bill summary and had TFS's number. Will they be able to help me or should I go to the dealer. Im pretty pissed off and before this I thought about purchasing/leasing through Toyota. But now screw them!
You had 3 door dings and a windshield that would not pass inspection...
They gave you a deal on the door dings and a real deal on the windshield..
You would think you would be appreciative...
Take some responsibility for god's sake...for the issues with the truck YOU turned in and stop trying to blame someone else..you probably had glass coverage, should have had it taken care of..
you got off easy..
No sympathy here

First off I have a receipt where that chip was professionally repaired a year and a half ago. So that's why I feel like that on a new windshield. Now on the door dings, for 54k on my lease to have just 3 dings which were small is pretty good I think. Here is the thing for me. My local dealer told me differently from what I received in a statement (flyer) and which TFS also confirmed from that flyer.(about dings per panel which were ok) I called TFS yesterday and did confirm the requirements: no more than 4 dings per panel, scratches no longer than 6 inches, tires at least 3/32nds, etc... So that's why im concerned about this bill. Before you go on with your "take responsibility" you should consider I am trying to gain feedback from people on this board to help me, not to try and play the dealer role. I need to call TFS back on Monday since that certain dept was closed for the weekend. TFS was extremely nice as usual. So we will see how it goes.
I just got of the phone with TFS. I couldn't believe it! Once again everyone at TFS has been extremely nice. Started off by talking about the windshield and she mentioned "I'll take care of it, in fact i'll take care of the whole bill. You will receive another statement showing zero in a week of so". Freaking amazing.. I have to admit i'm still skeptical until I see that final statement. But I am relieved
