This is a discussion thread titled "Lease return...non-stock vehicle", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
I anticipate turning my truck when the lease is up in Feb 09. It's a 2006 dc 4wd. There was a time when I thought I would either keep the truck at the end of the lease OR sell it outright to someone else.
So with this in mind I made some modifications. I did the Toytec 3inch, wheels ansd tires, spray in bedliner, and a Snugtop shell.
Now that my plans have changed and I don't believe I can sell it and I will be trading it in I'm wondering if they will ding me for these items. Mostly the lift and tires are my concern. The shell I know I can sell on Carigslist or something.
Anyone have experience with this situation. I'm not looking for them to give me money for the items. I just don't want to be charged for them.
I traded my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 Hemi Quad Cab with 110,000 miles on it for my Tundra. I had a lift, exhaust, supercharger, headers, Sound system, tint, bed cover, cowl hood hell you name it i prob had it. They gave me around $17,000 for it when i traded it in since they said the mods would help it sell faster so they gave me more money. I would go and talk to a seprate dealer other then yours and tell them you want to trade a modded vehicle and see what they say.

True...yeah sorry i wasn't thinking when i said that...but wouldn't the aftermarket parts still markup the price even if it was a lease to be turned in?

They may charge you to put the vehicle back to stock, since it was the way it was originally leased out. I bet thats in the lease contract that the vehicle wouldn't be moddified in some ways.
