Default Need help on '06 Tundra DC 4X4 in S.F.

I'm in the S.F. Bay area and looking for a Tundra DC 4X4 and wondering what a reasonable price might be (Yikes, these things ain't cheap!). They all seem to be lease returns and most are Toyota Certified. It's all a little confusing since they're all subtly different in equipment. I used edmunds Used Car Appraiser to come up with a price. Are they usually pretty accurate as far as what dealers end up taking? I guess every dealer's situation is different as far as how "flexible" they are. I need to find the "right" truck before I try making deals, but I'm almost afraid to see how close the price they've listed is to what they will entertain as a serious offer.

Any caveats in buying a Lease Return dealers buy at auction, other that a clear title (thanks Father of Three for the link!)? Are they generally as well cared for as vehicles traded in? Will dealers "shop" lease auctions for me since 4X4s aren't as common around here (especially with a moon roof) without wanting to gouge me on the price (like I owe them the favor).
Thanks!

Try contacting Walnut Creek Toyota and speak to a guy names Joe Goosetree. He's a good friend of mine and the fleet manager for WC Toyota. He could possibly help you out. Tell him Mike Dyogi sent you. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks Mike,
I did talk to someone there (have his name written down at work). They had one that was real close, but had cloth seats. The guy suggested having Coach reupolsture.

If you end up getting one or not, be sure to look at the meet and greet in Vacaville on April 26th. Click on the link in my sig.

Not impossible to get a dealer to shop an auction for you but unlikely. Right now it is hard enough to sell trucks with no miles on them. I am sure if you told my used car manager that you are willing to pay this amount for this type of truck. He might take a look for you. But to expect one to go buy trucks and just hope you dont lowball them just doesnt make business sense right now. If we go get a camry, we already know someone else would buy it if you dont, That is not the current situation with trucks.

The guy at walnut creek is a very good guy. He has been in our region for as long as I have I think. The leather added by Coach is nicer than factory leather anyway and they have a better warrenty then factory. So that might be the truck for you. Either way, good luck

The guys at Marin offered to look if I gave them a "list" of what I was looking for, but wasn't sure if they meant it. So far the salesman I wass in contact with and I are playing Phone Tag. I've heard decent things about Walnut Creek and will give them a call again. Last time they had no '06 4X4s. You think 4X4 Tuntra DCs are something dealers would deal on (within reason) to get rid of? I wasn't sure how much the tide has turned with gas down from last year's highs.

As far as leather goes, the guy at Steven's Creek said they put the leather over the cloth or the factory seats, the guy here in S.F. said they take the cloth off first because the leather has top be glued down. Both were speaking about the Coach company doing the work. The S.F guy quoted about $400 more, but I guess I'm used to getting screwed more because I live in S.F.!

BTW, I can't remember where I heard it, but any truth to the foam being a different density for factory seats with cloth covers vs leather, to compensate for the different give rate of the materials?
